About this winery

In 1884, the brothers António and Francisco Borges founded a company dedicated to banking, the sale of lottery tickets and tobacco. Then in 1891, they created the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges, a company dedicated to the production and marketing of wine. In 1904, they bought the Quinta de Solaheira vineyard in the Douro river valley, laying the first foundations for what would define their true vocation.
