Aware of the enormous potential of the Cantanhede region for producing high-quality wines, a group of 100 farmers founded the Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede in 1954. Now employing 700 active winemakers, this winery is the region's leading producer. The recognition of the quality of its products has been confirmed by the awards it has received, thanks to its continued participation in national and international competitions, and it has distinguished itself with several hundred awards! In 2012, Adega de Cantanhede received the "Cooperative Winery of the Year 2011" award as part of the "Best of the Year" competition from the prestigious "Revista de Vinhos," considered "Portugal's Wine Oscars." In 2015, the same magazine awarded our winemaker, Osvaldo Amado, the "Winemaker of the Year 2014" award. In 2014, Cantanhede Winery was ranked among the 100 best wine producers in the world by WAWWJ - World Association of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Critics.
