About this winery

André-Michel Pierlot moved to Tours-sur-Marne in 1812 as a Champagne wine merchant. It was in the village, on the plots called Les Plaisances and La Tour Glorieux that he founded what would become Maison Laurent-Perrier. His son Alphonse will succeed him, but the latter having no descendants, he will pass the estate on to his cellar master Eugène Laurent. Product notes

Laurent-Perrier Millésimé represents the choice of an exceptional and carefully selected vintage of Grands Crus Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This unique cuvée will be an integral part of a future iteration of Grand Siècle, an exceptional wine that captures the distinctive character of a Laurent-Perrier vintage.

Production notes

Blend of chardonnay vintages from the Côte des Blancs (Mesnil, Oger, Crémant and Chouilly) and pinot noir from the Montagne de Reims (Bouzy, Ay, Verzy, Mailly and Railly la Montagne).

Tasting notes

White gold color with very fine and persistent bubbles. The nose presents great complexity with notes of beeswax, candied lemon, honeysuckle and hawthorn followed by aromas of toast and orange. The attack is vibrant, giving way to a creamy and elegant palate with notes of candied lemon and honeysuckle. Pairings with seafood and white meats

James Suckling, July 2023 (Vintage 2015)

This is in a new bottle, like the stout ones used for the rosé and blanc de blancs. This is very structured with a density and richness with hints of strawberry to the apple character. Bubbles turn fine textured at the end. Delicious flavors of biscuits and dried apple in the finish. Special character to this because of the very ripe vintage. Disgorged in November 2021. This is half chardonnay and half pinot noir. This can age well due to the phenolics. Drink or hold.
