About this winery

For several generations, Domaine Laporte has held a pioneering position and has acquired a reputation for the quality of its wines. This notoriety is the fruit of the rigor, the determination and the know-how of the two passionate Sancerre families who have succeeded one another. Our property extends over 21 hectares in the heart of the appellation, planted with Sauvignon Blanc for the Sancerre blanc, and Pinot Noir for the Sancerre red and the Sancerre rosé. Each of our wines is vinified...

Product notes

This very steep plot of the Côte des Monts Damnés is located in the heart of a prestigious south-facing hillside in the village of Chavignol. The vines of a respectable age are deeply rooted in a terroir composed essentially of Kimmeridgian marl (a mixture of shells and clay).

Production notes

Harvested by hand. Pneumatic press. Cold static settling. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature control at 18 - 20°C. No malolactic fermentation. Aging on lees until bottling in May.

Tasting notes

Intense aromas of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruits. Powerful and round, this wine nevertheless shows remarkable balance. It opens out on the palate with extreme finesse, and ends with a mineral and chalky tension typical of its unique hillside within the Sancerre appellation. Pairings with grilled fish

Kristen Bieler, December 2023 (Vintage 2022)

A silky, stylish version, with flint-edged green pea, lime zest and verbena notes infusing the core of creamy ripe apple. Shows tannic grip through the racy, lingering finish. Drink now through 2027
