Production notes

Alcoholic fermentation is traditional, at a temperature of 28-30 °C, and lasts about 20 days. Malolactic fermentation is followed by a period of ageing in large oak barrels, where the wine spends up to one year.

Tasting notes

Ruby red shading to garnet. Bouqte very intense and really complex, with scents of ripe plum and black cherry. Exhibiting powder coffee and tobacco notes as well. The palate is rich and generous. Persistent with sweet and well integrated tannins. Paring with veal chops, duck ravioli and Osso Buco.

Walter Speller, June 2023 (Vintage 2020)

Mid-to-deep ruby with orange tinges. Discreet, peppery red-fruit nose with a hint of iron. Easy-going, supple fruit with soft tannins. Well made but more like a Langhe Nebbiolo and a bit of a lightweight.
